Chafing is the bane of every RASP candidate's existence. It's that painful, raw sensation that can turn a simple walk into an excruciating ordeal. I learned this the hard way during the Cole Range portion of RASP 1, and let me tell you, it's not an experience I'd wish on anyone.
The Chafing Challenge
When you're pushing your body to its limits, the last thing you need is the distraction of irritated skin in your most sensitive areas. Chafing in your private regions can be so severe that it makes even basic movement a test of willpower. But fear not, there's a solution.
The XGO Advantage
The game-changer in my battle against chafing was investing in high-quality compression shorts. Specifically, I swear by XGO compression underwear. At $30 a pair, they might seem pricey, but they're worth every cent. Here's why:
1. Superior Protection: These shorts create a barrier between your skin and your outer clothing, significantly reducing friction.
2. Durability: XGO shorts are built to last, standing up to the rigors of intense training.
3. Ranger School Approved: They're one of the few compression short brands allowed in Ranger School, making them a smart long-term investment.
The Sunscreen Hack
While anti-chafing creams aren't officially allowed, I discovered a workaround. I transferred anti-chafing cream into an empty sunscreen bottle – which is permitted. This covert operation allowed me to apply the cream as needed, providing an extra layer of protection.
The Winning Combination
By pairing my XGO compression shorts with strategically applied "sunscreen," I effectively eliminated my chafing issues. This combination allowed me to focus on the challenges of RASP without the distraction of skin irritation.
Remember, preparation is key in any military endeavor. By taking these preventative measures against chafing, you're setting yourself up for success. Stay comfortable, stay focused, and keep pushing towards the Scroll and Tab.
